RESUMO
Tomando como ponto de partida extratos de alguns dos artigos clássicos na disciplina o texto procura clarificar os conceitos de Antropologia Médica, Antropologia Clinicamente Aplicada e Institucionalização. A relação terapêutica é objeto de atenção especial. Ao longo da exposição o autor procura explicar as razões que o levaram a incluir o tema da Toxicodependência no programa da Antropologia Médica. São abordados os problemas relacionados com a Prevenção Primária, Secundária e Terciária, as relações com outros profissionais e aspetos históricos e organizacionais específicos dos serviços ligados à Toxicodependência em Portugal.

RÉSUMÉ
Ayant par point de départ les extraits de certain articles classiques de cette discipline là, le texte sert à clarifier les concepts de l'Anthropologie Médicalle, Anthropologie Cliniquement Appliquée et Institutionnalisation. La relation thérapeutique est object d'attention spéciale. Pendant l'exposé, l'auteur essaye expliquer les raisons que l'ont améné à inclure le thème de la Toxicodépendance dans le programmme de l'Anthropologie Médicale. Les problèmes abordés gardent un rapport avec la Prévention Primaire, Secondaire et Tertiaire, avec la communication "inter-professionnels" et aspects historiques et organisationnels spécifiques des services liés à la Toxicodépendance au Portugal.

ABSTRACT
Departing from extracts of some classical articles the text tries to clarify the concepts of Medical Anthropology, Clinically Applied Anthropology and institutionalisation. The therapeutic relationship deserves special attention. Through the exposition the author tries to explain the reasons that led him to include the subject of drug addiction in the Medical Anthropology programme. He makes an approach to problems regarding Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Prevention, the connections with other professionals and historic and organisational aspects specific to the services dealing with drug addiction in Portugal.
